Biography
Kate is a projects and finance lawyer based in Brisbane.
Kate has a particular focus on energy and infrastructure projects, having worked on numerous transactions for sponsors, developers, funders and financiers, both on greenfield and brownfield assets and in the secondary market. She also has experience negotiating power purchase agreements for both supplier and offtaker.
Her energy experience covers a variety of generation technology types including solar, wind, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, hydrogen and energy from waste.
Her infrastructure experience includes accommodation, water infrastructure and transportation projects.

- HyNQ – a consortium of CS Energy, Idemitsu, IHI and Energy Estate on their integrated green hydrogen and ammonia project in North Queensland including all pre-FEED and FEED activities.
- SMBC, DBS and Siemens on the project financing of the Gunsynd Solar Farm in Queensland, developed by Metis Energy.
- DBS, BNP Paribas and ING on the project financing of Vena Energy’s Wandoan South BESS.
- ACE Power on its 50/50 JV with Osaka Gas for a portfolio of solar and BESS assets in Queensland and NSW.
- Squadron on the Uungula Wind Farm, in particular revenue contracting including power purchase agreement and LTESA and whole of Project due diligence for financial close.
- Squadron (formerly CWP) on the development of the Sapphire BESS (to be collocated with the Sapphire Wind Farm) including structuring, project due diligence and connection.
- ESR on the establishment of a joint venture with Solar Bay for a large portfolio of behind the meter solar pv, battery and embedded network assets, including all template downstream documents including power purchase agreement, energy supply agreement, network services agreements, EPC and O&M contracts.
- Confidential client in relation to entry into an agreement to sell its interests in, and continued development of, a 500MW solar farm with 200MW battery storage project in New South Wales.
