Biography
Nuala Canavan is a counsel in the antitrust and competition law team in London. Her practice covers all aspects of EU and UK competition law, with a particular focus on competition litigation before the English High Court, Competition Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal and investigations by competition authorities (European Commission, UK CMA, and UK sectoral regulators).
Nuala has acted on a number of complex and high-profile competition cases in recent years, often on cases with an international focus. Her experience covers a range of sectors, including technology, financial services, and energy markets. Nuala’s experience is also informed by time spent outside of private practice, including secondments to two global financial institutions.
Prior to joining the practice, Nuala read law at Trinity College Dublin (First Class Honours) and obtained her master's degree in law (BCL, Distinction) from the University of Oxford, with a particular focus on Competition Law (awarded faculty prize 2012) and European Business Regulation.
