Joanna MacKenzie is an associate in the employment and labour team in London. Prior to joining our London office in November 2018, Joanna spent seven years as a paralegal, trainee solicitor, associate and senior associate in our Sydney office.

Joanna has experience of employment litigation and advisory work for clients in both the public and private sectors, as well as complementary experience of health and safety and civil litigation.

Joanna's experience also includes employment, discrimination and HR advice. Joanna has drafted employment contracts and policies, managed disciplinary and grievance matters, advised on performance issues, conducted workplace investigations and advised on employment aspects of M&A transactions and employee transfers.

Joanna also has practical experience of preparing and attending: unfair and unlawful dismissal hearings; general protections claims across various jurisdictions; and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes.

Joanna was also seconded to our Singapore office for six months in 2014 where she gained experience of transactional law and shipping finance.
