Biography

Georgie Field is a banking and finance lawyer based in London. She joined our practice in September 2013.

She has acted for airlines, operators, export credit agencies and lessors on a range of aircraft finance leasing matters, including operating leases, JOLCOs (including sustainability linked JOLCOs), finance leases, sale and leasebacks, wet leases, spare engine leases and aircraft acquisitions and disposals.

Georgie has also advised airlines on new aircraft and engine acquisitions, aircraft and engine PBH/support agreements and aviation commercial matters, including MRO General Terms Agreements.

  • Genesis on various purchases, novations and a sale and leaseback with WestJet for six aircraft which closed in 30 days from LOI to delivery;
  •  volofin on a recent financing with 400CM of three Aircraft on lease to Iberia serviced by FPG Amentum;
  • Jet2 plc on its purchase agreements with Airbus and CFM, the financing of its Boeing 737-800 fleet & Airbus A320 fleet (including a sustainability linked JOLCO) and Jet2.com Ltd with various aircraft and engine leasing, maintenance, sale and purchase transactions;
  • easyJet on the sale and leaseback of numerous Airbus A319 aircraft to leading Irish operating lessors; various leasing arrangements with different lessor entities across easyJet's fleet; and numerous lease novations and lease extensions;
  • Saudia on various transactions most notably the settlement of its dispute with IAFC;
  • Various financiers for financings with Emirates;
  • Geodis on its lease and onward operating agreement of an A330;
  • A number of conversion agreements;
  • InterGlobe Aviation Ltd on the Export Credit Agency financing of ten Airbus A320 aircraft and various other leasing arrangements with different lessor entities;
  • Scandinavian Airline Systems on a pre-delivery payment financing facility and various Japanese Operating Leases with Call Option (JOLCO) and other sale and leaseback transactions involving a number of major lessors;
  • Voyager (then) Intrepid Aviation on the sale of various aircraft from its fleet, a number of debt financings and other matters relating to its fleet;
  • European ECAs on financing a number of A320 aircraft and a Boeing 787-9 for different operating lessors and on the on-going financing and prepayments of a large number of Airbus aircraft for another major operating lessor;
  • Various rail transactions including a franchising agreement for The Department for Transport, the supply of new rolling stock for Stadler Rail and financings for CBA and ING;
  • The Go-Ahead Group Plc on loan facilities with the Bank of Tokyo, Mitsubishi UFJ Limited and Santander;
  • Santander on various ongoing matters in respect of its aviation financing portfolio;
  • Carnival plc on charter agreements for its Caribbean operations;
  • CMA CGM on charter arrangements and charter templates;
  • Jet2 on four of its latest Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (JOLCO) financings for the delivery of four new A321 aircraft from Airbus;
  • Jet2.com on a Maintenance Services Agreement with Honeywell International SARL and Honeywell International Inc in respect of Jet2’s fleet of 131-9A Auxiliary Power Unit for its new Aircraft order;
  • Geodis on the launch of its airline offering and negotiating charter agreements;
