Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the appointment of Jessica Li as a partner in its banking and finance practice in Hong Kong.
Jessica, who was formerly a partner at Ashurst, primarily advises Chinese and international financial institutions, as well as corporate entities, on debt capital markets (DCM) in the Greater China region.
She has extensive experience of advising on the full spectrum of DCM products and transactions, including stand-alone bond offerings, MTN programme establishment and note issues under these, hybrid securities offerings, equity-linked debt products and Basel III-compliant regulatory capital issues.
Psyche Tai, the head of Norton Rose Fulbright’s Hong Kong practice, commented:
“The cross-border activity between Hong Kong, the rest of Greater China and international markets remains robust, which continues to drive strong demand for fund raising in the capital markets. We are therefore seeking to further expand our DCM capabilities. We are delighted that a lawyer of Jessica’s calibre has joined us and we look forward to working with her. She combines more than 15 years’ of technical legal experience with a deep understanding of both international and Chinese markets.”
Victor Sim, the head of the firm’s Hong Kong banking and finance team, commented:
“Jessica will help us extend the breadth of our banking and finance offering to clients in Hong Kong and the rest of the Greater China, and internationally. Our team is well placed to help clients navigate complex capital markets transactions, drawing upon our extensive regional knowledge and experience of working with banks, financial institutions and corporate clients.”
Jessica Li commented:
“I’m excited to join Norton Rose Fulbright, a firm with outstanding international coverage and one of the largest and most established banking and finance practices. I look forward to working with such talented colleagues to support our clients across Greater China and around the world.”
With more than 800 lawyers situated in the world’s financial centres, Norton Rose Fulbright’s global banking and finance team has one of the longest histories of any law firm in the field, advising major banks, finance providers, export credit agencies, corporate and sovereign entities and other participants in the global banking and finance arena.
