Biography
Shanika Gordon is a litigation lawyer based in the Toronto office. She is developing a broad practice in all areas of commercial and civil litigation. Shanika joined us as a summer student in 2021 and returned for articling in 2022 after obtaining her J.D. degree at Osgoode Hall Law School. During her articling term, Shanika completed a secondment at the Royal Bank of Canada.
Throughout law school, Shanika participated in a number of moot and negotiation competitions and completed placements at community legal clinics where she assisted clients with their criminal and housing law matters. She was also an active member of the Black Law Students' Association, Osgoode Chapter, for which she served as treasurer and equity officer. In her final year of law school, Shanika received the Gowling WLG Prize in Securities Regulation for obtaining the highest standing in her section.
Prior to law school, Shanika was employed as a bail supervisor for a non-profit organization where she helped individuals navigate the judicial interim process.
