Singapore banking and finance team advises on a €50m green loan facility

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) on an €50m unsecured green loan facility to Cadeler A/S (Cadeler) to help meet rising global demand for renewable energy. The facility would be advanced in accordance with the APLMA Green Loan Principles.
The financing will fund Cadeler’s construction of the X-class and F-class newbuild vessels and upgrade of the existing O-class vessels with new cranes. Cadeler, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, is a key supplier in the offshore wind industry for installation services and operation and maintenance works that provides marine and engineering operations.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising HSBC as mandated lead arranger, green loan coordinator and facility agent was led by Banking and Finance Counsel Aditya Rebbapragada and supported by Partners Nick Merritt and Ben Rose, Senior Associate Sophie Polisena and Associate Royce Lee. Bech-Bruun were Danish law advisers to HSBC.
