Dr Heiko Bertelmann is a corporate / M&A lawyer based in Hamburg. He is responsible for our Life Sciences and Healthcare team in Germany and Europe.

Heiko advises strategic and financial investors on M&A transactions and joint ventures across all industries. He focuses his practice on advising companies and transactions in the life sciences and healthcare and private equity sectors. He also advises on matters of corporate and commercial law, as well as on restructuring matters.

Heiko studied law and earned his doctorate degree at the University of Marburg. In addition, he completed his postgraduate studies in commercial law at the University of Hamburg. Following his legal traineeship at the higher regional court of Hamburg, he was admitted as a lawyer in 2007.

Heiko spent seven years at a leading international law firm in Hamburg, London and Frankfurt and joined us in 2014.

Heiko is described by clients as "always precise" with "all topics covered" in JUVE 2017/2018.

Heiko is a lecturer on corporate and commercial law, and contract drafting (with a focus on corporate / M&A) at the University of Kiel.
