Peter Richmond

Biography

Peter Richmond has over a decade of experience as trusted counsel to renewable energy developers and investors on project development and financing matters. He represents developers, investors and technology companies in all facets of project development across the spectrum of renewable energy, storage, hydrogen, and other climate technologies.

He has significant experience drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement and construction agreements, equipment supply agreements, power purchase, capacity, tolling and other offtake agreements, operations and maintenance agreements, long-term services agreements, asset management agreements, energy management and demand response services agreements, and shared facilities agreements.

While pursuing his J.D. from Stanford Law School, Peter also obtained an M.S. from Stanford’s School of Earth, Energy and Environmental Sciences. Prior to attending law school, Peter spent several years working in health economics as an analyst at the Congressional Budget Office and for Stanford’s Center for Health Policy.

Representative experience

  • Represented utility scale solar and storage developer in the development of a co-located 160 MW solar and 160 MW / 640 MWh battery energy storage project in Southern California, including negotiation of project module supply, battery energy storage and long-term services, and engineering, procurement and construction contracts. 

  • Represented various developers on over 10 GWh collectively of battery energy storage procurement and long-term services contracts with most major battery energy storage integrators and vendors.

  • Represented various developers in the preparation and negotiation of shared facilities agreements for portfolios of solar, storage, solar and storage, and wind projects.
