Biography
Patrizia Pedretti is a senior associate based in Milan. She focuses on all aspects of privacy and data protection law and regulation, providing strategic legal and business advice for a variety of international commercial and financial clients.
She has extensive knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian privacy regulations and regularly assists global clients in conducting privacy assessments, responding to the Italian Data Protection Authority’s requests for information, advising on employee monitoring tools and flagging issues in cross-border M&A transactions.
Her practice also covers cybersecurity and cutting-edge technology-related matters, with particular focus on GDPR compliance, data breach support, risk analysis and DPIAs, data processing agreements, profiling and automated decisions, cross-border data transfers, marketing campaigns, and processing of special categories of data.
Passionate about new technologies, Patrizia has gained experience on social networks, e-commerce platforms, payment apps and fintech services.
She also advises on privacy issues relating to the life science and health sector. Her experience includes advice concerning clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, and her clients include multinational pharmaceutical companies.
Additionally, she has extensive experience advising clients on EU and national merger control, including filing transactions before competition authorities, addressing anticompetitive agreements, abuse of dominance issues, and consumer protection.
She has been involved in several complex antitrust investigations, assisting international clients with information requests, hearing preparations, compliance program implementations, and appealing antitrust decisions before administrative courts.
Patrizia is recognised in the 2024 edition of The Legal 500 as a Rising Star in EU and Competition Law.
She regularly publishes and speaks on topics relating to privacy and antitrust and competition.
Prior to joining us, she worked at international law firms in Milan and at a consultancy firm in Brussels.
