Biography
Magdalena Oropeza is an associate in the firm's New York office, where she is a member of the Financial Services practice group. Magdalena focuses her practice on advising clients on financial services and regulations, particularly in the areas of investment funds, asset management, and fintech. Magdalena provides strategic guidance to clients across banking and finance, private equity, and venture capital, helping navigate complex regulatory landscapes and execute key transactions. With a strong interest in innovative financial solutions, Magdalena is committed to supporting client in achieving their business goals within the ever-evolving financial sector.
Before Ms. Oropeza joined, we sponsored her as a pro bono Legal Fellow at The Door, which serves low-income and at-risk youth in New York City. As a fellow, Ms. Oropeza represented undocumented immigrant youth in removal (deportation) proceedings before the New York Immigration Court and in related proceedings in the New York State family court system. Ms. Oropeza obtained Lawful Permanent Residence (a "green card") for dozens of abused, neglected, and persecuted children. Ms. Oropeza remains active in the firm's pro bono practice.
