Biography
India Furse is a litigation and disputes lawyer based in London.
India focuses on all aspects of commercial disputes, particularly in the energy and natural resources sectors. She has acted as lead associate on matters for prominent international clients, including global mining companies, energy supermajors, national oil companies and renewables companies. India spent six months on secondment in our Singapore office where she gained experience across Asia-Pacific.

- A national oil company - in US$10 billion arbitration proceedings related to a joint venture in the Middle East (LCIA, English law).
- An energy supermajor - in US$240m arbitration proceedings relating to leakage claims arising out of an SPA (LCIA, Danish law)
- A national oil company - in US$86m arbitration proceedings arising out of a plug and abandonment project offshore in Africa (LCIA, Angolan law)
- An energy supermajor in US$115m arbitration proceedings arising out of the sale of offshore assets in Africa (LCIA, English law).
- An energy supermajor - in c.£450 million Commercial Court proceedings relating to decommissioning security in the North Sea.
- A global wind turbine manufacturer - in arbitration proceedings arising out of a joint venture dispute (Ad hoc, English law)
- A global gold mining company - in respect of three claims exceeding a total of US$148m arising out of one of its Tanzanian mines ((i) AFSA, English law, South Africa seat; (ii) Ad hoc, Tanzanian law, Dar es Salaam seat; (iii) Ad hoc, English law)
- A dual-listed gold mining company and its subsidiary - in a multimillion dollar arbitration proceedings brought against it by its earthworks and civils contractor in connection with a gold mine in West Africa (AFSA, English law)
- An energy supermajor - in three health and safety investigations following incidents at its UK-based chemical plant
- An energy supermajor - in High Court litigation proceedings in relation to the illegal tapping of UK oil pipelines. Advocated at a successful application hearing for a charging order over the defendant's property
- The contractor - in High Court proceedings relating to a waste-to-energy plant (Essex County Council v UBB Waste (Essex) Ltd [2020] EWHC 1581 (TCC)).
- The operator of an onshore licence - in High Court proceedings against one of the JOA partners relating to a claim for unpaid invoices
- A London-listed investment trust operating UK wind farms - in relation to a statutory nuisance claim.
