Biography

Sarah Sheppard is an arbitration lawyer based in Dubai. 

Sarah has experience in arbitration, litigation, projects and construction, and has advised on matters for a variety of clients including governments, sovereign wealth funds, master developers, owners/ employers and contractors to deliver practical and commercially minded resolutions. In addition to general commercial disputes, Sarah’s experience extends to road, rail and civil infrastructure, and commercial construction projects.

Sarah was previously based in Australia and has dispute resolution experience in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore, Sweden and South Korea. Prior to commencing with the firm, Sarah was an Associate to a Judge in the District Court of Queensland, Australia.

  • A major Saudi Arabian bank – in relation to disputes arising out of the construction of a building in Riyadh.
  • An Abu Dhabi master developer - advised on a range of private lease agreements in the ADGM jurisdiction.
  • A commercial entity – on DIFC Court proceedings for a complex bankruptcy matter.  
  • The claimant in a commercial dispute – on an arbitration under the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre regarding a breach of contract claim. 
  • A commercial entity – on a commercial dispute under the arbitration rules of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce regarding warranty claims. 
  • A commercial entity – on an arbitration under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration in relation to an action for misrepresenting the performance of products.   
  • Various Australian government entities - on project delivery and funding agreements for a range of major construction projects including road infrastructure, public buildings and rail networks. Advised and drafted several suites of bespoke contracts for both construction and procurement matters.
