Biography

Chris Guevara focuses his practice on public finance matters and resides at the firm's Austin office. Prior to joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Mr. Guevara worked in the Public Finance Division of the Texas Attorney General's Office, where he reviewed  tax-exempt and taxable public securities from a wide-range of issuers including municipalities, counties, school districts, special districts and conduit issuers. He assisted in advising the Texas Bond Review Board in matters concerning tax-exempt private activity bonds and represented the agency with the litigation division as a mandatory party to bond validation suits. During the Texas Legislative Session, he analysed bills of interest to the agency and the public finance industry, advised governmental agencies as to the application of legislation, and drafted fiscal notes for the agency.

Prior to his work at the Texas Attorney General's Office, Mr. Guevara worked as a federal funds analyst at the Texas Legislative Budget Board, where he developed budget and policy recommendations for the Texas General Appropriations Act during the 84th and 85th Legislatures.
