Biography
Bill is a senior commercial and corporate lawyer. For many years he has provided both legal and commercial advice and assistance to Commonwealth agencies, in particular the Department of Defence and Department of Finance on major projects. His practice areas include general contract law, procurement and tendering and governance and probity. Prior to 1998, Bill specialised in corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, in Sydney.
Bill's major focus area has been Commonwealth procurement of major capital equipment: ships, submarines, aircraft, vehicles (and associated infrastructure), as well as their through life support. Bill has assisted in the successful resolution of complex issues arising in the course of a number of major Commonwealth procurement projects, including 'Projects of Concern'. He has also provided 'lessons learnt' seminars based on this experience.
Bill has also advised Commonwealth agencies on various corporate transactions for the Commonwealth's acquisition and disposal of a range of corporations, business and assets.
