Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Robert Dobrzycki, president and co-owner of Panattoni, an international real estate development firm operating in Europe, India, and Saudi Arabia, on the acquisition of a majority stake in Widzew Łódź football club.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team in Warsaw that advised Robert Dobrzycki was led by partner Magdalena Zienkiewicz, and included counsel Krzysztof Jasiński and senior associate Katarzyna Berestecka, as well as associate Magdalena Olechniewicz-Blocher and associate Wojciech Jaskulak.
The advice included due diligence, negotiations, and preparation of transaction documents. The transaction also required a deep understanding of the interests of key stakeholders, including the club and its fans, as well as the club’s significance in the city of Łódź and Polish football history.
Widzew Łódź is one of Poland's most iconic football clubs, founded in 1910 and based in Łódź. The club has won four Polish championship titles (1981, 1982, 1996, 1997) and a Polish Cup victory in 1985. Widzew has also made its mark on the European stage, reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1983 and participating in the UEFA Champions League group stage in 1996.
