Biography
James Collis is a London-based partner in our banking and finance team. James has more than 20 years' experience, focusing on acquisition finance, restructuring, corporate debt and general banking work.
James acts for sponsors, corporates, debt funds, banks and other financial institutions and creditors on cross-border and domestic leveraged buy-outs, structured debt, bid financings and restructurings. James also has extensive experience across a wide-range of other financing structures, notably: funds finance, borrowing base facilities and margin lending. A fluent French speaker, he practised in Paris for over 7 years and is familiar with French law financing and restructuring techniques.
James has also served as the Global Managing Partner of another major international law firm.

• JP Morgan Cazenove in relation to the UK public offer by Young’s for the City Pub Group Plc.
• Canaccord Genuity in relation to the UK public offer by Francisco Partners for the Blancco Technology Group plc.
• Numis Securities in relation to the UK public offer by H.I.G Capital for DX (Group) plc.
• Interserve, a global facilities and services business, while listed on the London Stock Exchange in relation to its financing arrangements (including a swingline facility).
• Cegedim SA, a Euronext-listed global leader in healthcare technology on its term and revolving loan facilities (including a swingline facility) with a multinational syndicate of banks.
• the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme in relation to its £1.45bn revolving loan facilities with a multinational syndicate of banks.
• RWS Holdings plc, an AIM-listed multinational corporate on the negotiation of its revolving loan facilities with a multinational syndicate of banks, and on the refinancing of the same.
• the Sonatel Group, the listed group that is the principal telecommunications provider in Senegal in relation to its term and revolving loan facilities.
• Infinity Renewable Energy and its specially-incorporated borrower entities, in relation to its loan facilities for its purchase of Lekela Power B.V.
• the concessionaire borrower in relation to the financing of the A65 autoroute in SW France.
• 3B Glassfibre in relation to the refinancing of its term and revolving facilities.
• ECI Partners in relation to term and revolving loan facilities in support of their acquisition of the CSL Group.
• SFW Capital in relation to term and revolving loan facilities in support of their acquisition of Captify Technologies.
• Archer, a Norwegian offshore energy business in relation to its term and revolving loan facilities.
• a world-leading visual special-effects business on the refinancing of its term and revolving corporate loan facilities.
