Biography
Kevin Hong is a dispute resolution lawyer based in Hong Kong. He has over a decade of experience in international arbitration and commercial litigation.
Kevin advises local and multinational corporations across a broad range of industry sectors on commercial, M&A, technology, joint venture, sales of goods, construction, shipping and insurance disputes. He has particular experience in the commodities, infrastructure and construction sectors. He has advised and represented clients including government departments, developers, architects, contractors and subcontractors on a wide spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters arising out of infrastructure and construction projects in a number of jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai, Beijing, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Australia and the United States.
Kevin has a special focus on international arbitration and arbitration related court proceedings. He has acted as counsel in arbitral proceedings conducted under different institutional rules such as the HKIAC, UNCITRAL, SIAC, CIETAC and LMAA rules as well as ad hoc arbitral proceedings in a number of jurisdictions. Kevin has contributed to various leading texts and practice notes on arbitration in the region, including Arbitration in Hong Kong: A Practical Guide, 2nd Edition, Construction Arbitration in Hong Kong: A Practical Guide, BAC arbitration: a step-by-step guide and Arbitration: CIETAC practice notes for LexisNexis. Kevin is recognized as an expert in international arbitration by LexisNexis and has been appointed as a Regional Representative of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum for North Asia.
Kevin has been shortlisted for the "Young Lawyer of the Year" award at the 2020 Asian Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards and recognized by Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a key lawyer in the areas of international arbitration, construction and shipping.
Kevin is trilingual in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
