Biography
Jochen Vester is a financial services regulation lawyer based in London. Jochen advises credit institutions, investment firms, asset managers, specialised lenders, institutional brokers, global custodians and unregulated entities on a wide range of domestic and European financial services law matters.
Jochen's practice involves advising clients on regulatory change projects (including MiFID II, CSDR and IFPR), governance and risk management, market abuse, prudential regulation, trading, clearing, settlement, prime brokerage and global custody regulation.
Jochen has particular knowledge of all regulatory matters pertaining to market infrastructure, securities and derivatives regulation, commodities derivatives, trading documentation, capital and liquidity requirements and recovery and resolution planning.
Prior joining our financial services group, Jochen worked in the derivatives and structured products team in our London office. Jochen was seconded to a global custodian and a large UK investment bank.
Jochen studied at the University of Wuerzburg and Lausanne. He is a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales, a Rechtsanwalt in Germany, and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Frankfurt Bar Association.
