Biography

Marissa Elder is a member of the Regulations, Investigations, Securities and Compliance group in the Austin office. She handles risk consulting, securities litigation and regulation and enforcement matters.

Marissa has worked in both chambers of the Texas Legislature. She has experience drafting legislation, conducting analysis on local and federal policy related matters and pro bono efforts relating to indigent defense. She also has experience in issues relating to Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Name Image and Likeness (NIL) regulatory compliance.

Marissa graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 2022 and was recognized as an outstanding graduate at the University Commencement Ceremony. While in law school, Marissa served as the President of the Texas Law Student Bar Association. Additionally, Marissa was a Dean's Fellow in the Texas Law Society Program, a Graduate Assistant, served on the Executive Boards of the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society, the Women's Law Caucus and was selected as a member of the Texas Law Dean Search Committee.

Post-graduation, Marissa had the opportunity to serve as Deputy to the Dean in the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions at the University of Texas at Austin.
