Biography
Chad Wallis’s practice focuses on intellectual property law and primarily includes the prosecution and litigation of patents.
Chad has experience preparing and prosecuting both utility and design patent applications in the US and abroad for various technologies, including medical devices; oil and gas equipment; innovative materials; automotive, marine and railroad equipment; personal hygiene products; semiconductors; and integrated circuits. Chad also has experience with preparing freedom to operate (FTO) analyses, invalidity opinions, and licensing agreements.
Chad's practice is also focused on post-grant proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Chad has successfully represented patent owners and patent challengers in post-issuance validity proceedings, including developing case strategies, drafting briefs, expert declarations and other motions, as well as handling expert depositions.
