Norton Rose Fulbright ranked second in Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers 2019

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been ranked second for innovation in the Asia-Pacific region, among a crowded field of internationally headquartered firms.
This recognition underscores the firm’s successful track record in providing innovative legal advice, creating new business models, and developing and launching new products and services in collaboration with clients and others.
There was substantial competition for this year’s Financial Times Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers rankings. The FT received 537 submissions, and nominations from 81 law firms and legal service providers, and 40 in-house legal teams. A total of 60 law firms and 27 company legal teams were ranked across Asia-Pacific.
The firm had four initiatives ranked ‘Highly Commended’ by the FT, which were our:
- joint venture with Jaramer Legal, a new majority Indigenous-owned commercial law firm in Australia. Jaramer Legal’s principals are Bevan Mailman and Brian Bero, working closely with Norton Rose Fulbright partners Peter Cash (Melbourne), Michael Greene (Sydney, Canberra) and Rebecca Hoare (Brisbane).
Ranked equal 2nd in the ‘New Business and Service Delivery Models’ category. Commended: Bevan Mailman and Peter Cash - new Deliver&Capture tool, a holistic risk management solution for construction and infrastructure projects which brings together in a single platform contract management, automated claims processing and collaboration capabilities. Lead partner James Morgan-Payler (Melbourne).
Ranked equal 2nd in the ‘New Products and Services’ category. - development of an insurance product that mitigates energy production risk to help facilitate the funding of the Lal Lal wind farm in Australia. Lead partners Robert Eberhardt (New York), Vittorio Casamento (Sydney), Kelly Davies (Sydney) and Jo Crew (Melbourne).
Ranked equal 3rd in the ‘Enabling Business Growth and Transformation’ category. - advice to the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network, formed by the International Finance Corporation, the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the ASEAN Bankers Association, on setting up a software-development platform. Lead partners Stella Cramer (Singapore) and Sheela Moorthy (Singapore).
Ranked equal 2nd in the ‘Creating a New Standard’ category.
Our new NRF Transform | Risk Sonar tool, a cloud-based solution that brings together powerful analytics, global human rights expertise and user-friendly design to identify and manage supply chain risk, was also one of just five new products shortlisted by the FT for a presentation to law firm clients in Singapore.
