Biography
Recognized by D Magazine as a "Best Lawyer Under 40" and Thomson Reuters as a "Texas Rising Star," Nathan Baum is a partner in the firm's commercial litigation group. Nathan has worked his entire career at Norton Rose Fulbright.
Nathan has extensive experience successfully representing companies in both federal and state court litigation. In particular, Nathan's practice focuses on complex business litigation, with an emphasis on commercial disputes, employment, oil and gas and antitrust litigation.
Nathan has significant trial and arbitration experience, including an arbitration victory for an oil and gas client in which the arbitrator awarded a complete victory including an award of attorneys' fees and costs.
Nathan also has particular success in achieving pre-trial dismissals of matters through motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment. Nathan recently achieved dismissal of his client in a major trade secret litigation in the aerospace industry in federal court in California. Nathan also achieved dismissal of his client in a federal securities case in federal court in Oklahoma. Nathan and his colleagues further obtained another summary judgment award in federal court on behalf of a long-standing firm client, a petroleum, natural gas, and natural gas liquids exploration and production company.
Nathan has also successfully represented large national companies in significant employment litigation victories, including matters involving trade secret misappropriation, non-compete agreements and wrongful termination issues.
Nathan is also the Chair of the Dallas office's Engagement Committee, focusing on office events and engagement. Nathan is also a member of the University of Texas School of Law Dallas Young Alumni Steering Committee.

In law school, Nathan worked on the student-managed publication The Review of Litigation and participated in the Actual Innocence Clinic. He also interned for the Chief District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the Honorable Barbara M.G. Lynn, as well as for the Honorable Emily G. Tobolowsky. He was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2012.
