Biography
Pierre Dagenais has extensive corporate and securities law experience, with particular emphasis on public M&A and corporate finance. He has acted as counsel in many M&A transactions, including take-over bids and statutory arrangements. He has been involved in a number of IPOs and other corporate finance transactions (including those with a cross-border component) for issuers, underwriters and investors. Pierre has been a leader in ESG financings, including acting for an issuer in the first Canadian sustainability-linked bond offering.
In his general corporate law practice, Pierre advises Canadian public companies on corporate governance matters and continuous disclosure obligations. He is qualified to practise both in Ontario and Alberta.

- TELUS Corporation with a number of its public offerings of debt and equity, including its inaugural offering of sustainability-linked notes
- The underwriters in the IPO of Hudson's Bay Company and follow-on secondary offering of its common shares
- The underwriters in the IPO of Bauer Performance Sports Ltd. and with a number of follow-on offerings, including the company's subsequent US listing and IPO
- International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, with a number of equity investments in Canadian and international mining and oil and gas companies
- A leading international consulting company in its acquisition of the investment consulting and wealth management of a Canadian-headquartered, global investment services firm
- Terrace Global, a Canadian company with international cannabis assets, in its acquisition by The Flowr Corporation
- Pacific Exploration & Production Corporation in its US$5.3 billion restructuring
- Barrick Gold Corporation in its $7.3 billion acquisition of Equinox Minerals Limited
- CHC Helicopter Corporation in the US$3.7 billion acquisition of CHC by First Reserve Corporation
- Domtar Inc. in its combination with Weyerhaeuser Company's fine paper business and related assets
