Biography
John Jennings' practice focuses on commercial real estate matters and the negotiation of federal, state and local economic development incentives. A Partner in the San Antonio office, he represents clients in connection with all facets of the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, leasing and operation of all types of real property. Additionally, John's finance experience extends to the negotiation of credit facilities on behalf of both borrowers and lenders.
As a member of the Real Estate Practice Group, John routinely advises clients on land use and zoning matters, construction contracts and lien disputes. Additionally, he has extensive experience in loan workouts, foreclosures and the sale and purchase of distressed commercial paper and multi-jurisdictional 363 bankruptcy sales.

John's recent projects include representation of clients in connection with matters concerning the:
- negotiation and drafting of economic incentives agreements with governmental entities, as well as planning, zoning, and general real estate matters concerning the construction of a manufacturing facility;
- representation of both borrowers and lenders in all types of financing transactions, including senior secured and unsecured lending transactions
- defending against disclosure of third party information pursuant to Public Information Act requests;
- acquisition of golf courses and surrounding investment property;
- acquisition of multi-family residential properties involving multi-tiered "debt/equity" financing structures;
- negotiation and settlement of commercial development mechanic's and materialman's lien priority disputes;
- sale and lease-back transactions involving single- and multi-tenant commercial properties;
- negotiation of "stalking horse" asset purchase agreement in connection with 363 bankruptcy sale;
- acquisition of distressed commercial paper and subsequent acquisition of real estate collateral through foreclosure;
- acquisition of partially constructed multifamily and condominium projects through 363 bankruptcy sale;
- representation of special servicers and borrowers in connection with workout / foreclosure of CMBS and GSE loans;
- sale and purchase of agricultural processing plants and energy production plants in multi-jurisdictional transactions;
- lease-revenue bond transactions involving the construction of public school educational facilities;
- sale and purchase of ranch and farm land; and
- commercial landlord-tenant disputes.
