About me

Role at NRF

I am Director of Innovation for Norton Rose Fulbright in EMEA and lead the firm’s strategic initiatives relating to innovation, legal technology and artificial intelligence (AI). I co-lead the Innovation, Design and Technology department with Sara Collins and drive efforts to integrate cutting-edge technologies, ensuring that legal teams are equipped to navigate the evolving legal landscape. I work closely with other teams across the firm to champion new ways of delivering legal services, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing client experiences. My leadership extends to AI-readiness, technology steering committees, and longer-term strategic initiatives to align emerging technologies with the firm’s long-term goals.

Technology and AI

I am at the forefront of AI within the legal profession. I currently chair the EMEA AI SteerCo, co-lead the EMEA GenAI Programme and sit on the global AI Task Force, which has broad responsibility for AI preparedness, testing and roll-out of AI technologies, and designing new technology-led client services. My vision is to ensure that technology is used not only to optimize legal service delivery but also support the firm’s broader strategy of creating new technology-enabled services for clients using new business models.

Industry engagement

Outside of my role at Norton Rose Fulbright, I’m a passionate advocate for the intersection of law and technology. I currently sit on the City of London Law Society AI Committee where I contribute to the client and education sub-committees. I’m also a frequent speaker at industry conferences, sharing insights on the AI’s impact on the future of work and the evolving relationship between professional services firms and clients. I also teach cross-disciplinary courses that bridge the gap between law and technology, having collaborated with universities to create curricula bringing together multiple teaching approaches and faculties. Additionally, I mentor founders and advise legal tech startups, providing guidance on product development, strategy, and scaling, making me an active contributor and connector within the wider legal technology ecosystem.

I played ice hockey for many years.

Previously

Previous to moving to the UK to study law, I worked in various technology start-ups in the gaming, music and engineering sectors and obtained a business degree from St. Francis Xavier University, in Nova Scotia.
