Global Press release - Recognition January 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright’s aviation finance and restructuring teams have again been recognized for their work advising on the Restructuring Deal of the Year at the annual Aviation 100 Global Leaders Awards for 2025.

The awards, now in their 14th year, are organized by aviation industry publication Airline Economics in celebration of leading companies, individuals and transactions in the aviation finance and leasing sector that have excelled during the previous year.

Norton Rose Fulbright acted as special aviation counsel to Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) on its US$1.2 billion exit financing from Chapter 11, which won Restructuring Deal of the Year and marked SAS’ successful emergence from Chapter 11.

The team advised on all aviation-related elements of the exit financing and related security package in addition to acting as special aviation counsel to SAS throughout its Chapter 11 process, working together with Seabury Capital as restructuring advisor and Weil Gotshal & Manges as bankruptcy counsel to SAS in connection with the restructuring of SAS’s fleet obligations.

The Norton Rose Fulbright multidisciplinary team was led by Owen Mulholland (London), David Rosenzweig and Fiona Henderson (New York) with support from Francisco Vazquez (New York) and Will Alete and Louise Auty (London).
