Norton Rose Fulbright advises on 'Deal of the Year'
United States | Press release - Recognition | December 1, 2021
Norton Rose Fulbright's public finance team has been awarded for its involvement on a US$26.1 million bond issuance transaction named "Bond Buyer Deal of the Year" for the Southwest region by The Bond Buyer, recognizing the team's outstanding achievement in municipal finance.
The firm's San Antonio and Austin offices advised on the issuance of taxable gas system revenue bonds by the City of Grey Forest, Texas, which allowed the city to finance its extraordinary operating costs associated with Texas winter storm Uri, lessening the impact of these extraordinary costs on the issuer's immediate budget. This financing established a model that can be used by other communities facing similar financial hardships caused by other natural disasters.
The annual awards recognize the region's most innovative deals, teams and firms that advance the infrastructure and quality of life in US municipalities as selected by The Bond Buyer.
Additionally, the transaction is a finalist for the national Deal of the Year award that will be announced in New York City on December 16, 2021.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team included Stephanie Leibe and Matt Lee.
