Norton Rose Fulbright named as a Working Families Top 30 Employer 2021 for the fourth consecutive year
United Kingdom | Press release - Recognition | September 2021
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been named as one of the top thirty family-friendly employers in the UK by Working Families, the UK’s work-life balance charity. This is the fourth consecutive year the firm has been included in the list.
Employers were assessed using Working Families’ Benchmark and were scored on four key areas to build a comprehensive picture of their flexible and family-friendly policies and practices that specifically support mothers, fathers, and carers:
- integration to organisational strategy and culture – which looks at culture, attitude and how far flexible and family-friendly working practices have become embedded;
- policy – which looks at the creation, development and deployment of flexible and family-friendly working policies;
- consistent practice – which considers how well flexible and family-friendly working is supported; and
- evidence and statistics – which looks at the effects of flexible and family-friendly working on the organisation, and their ability to understand those effects.
Over the past year, the firm has introduced a number of family-friendly policies and initiatives, including a new carer’s leave policy. Under the new policy, employees with caring responsibilities involving a dependant can take up to five days paid leave per holiday year, irrespective of length of service.
Farmida Bi, Chair, Europe, Middle East and Asia, commented:
“Being named as a top thirty family-friendly employer by Working Families again highlights our commitment to providing modern working environments and practices conducive to working parents and carers. The COVID-19 pandemic has further illustrated how important it is for employers to support their teams and build cultures that support flexible and agile working, and we are delighted to have been included in this list.”
Jane van Zyl, CEO of Working Families, said:
“After an incredibly difficult year for employers and employees alike, we’ve been blown away by the high standard of this year’s entries. If anything, it’s been more competitive than ever, as more and more employers realise just how vital it is to offer flexible, family friendly policies and a positive, inclusive culture to attract the most diverse talent. I’d like to congratulate each and every worthy member of our Top Employers list 2021.”
