Norton Rose Fulbright advises Matrix Renewables in the Stillhouse Solar project

United States Press release - Business December 2024

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented Matrix Renewables on the preferred equity and debt financings for its Stillhouse Solar project in Bell County, Texas.

The US$376 million debt financing was provided by MUFG Bank, ING Bank, BBVA and HSBC. Construction on the facility is in progress and commercial operation is expected to commence in Q3 of 2025. Once complete, the solar PV plant will have a total operating capacity of 210 MWac.

Stillhouse Solar is expected to produce enough electricity to power more than 45,000 homes, offsetting approximately 185,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. The project has secured a 15-year power purchase agreement with affiliates of Hyundai and will benefit from Microsoft’s purchase of environmental attribute certificates for the facility.

The project has also partnered with nonprofit Sustain Our Future Foundation and will contribute nearly US$3 million through the program to support community benefits.

Norton Rose Fulbright’s deal team was led by Raquel Bierzwinsky (New York) and Hilary Lefko (Washington DC), and included Marian Baldwin Fuerst, Bassam Chain, Andrew Skroback, Fiorella Ruiz del Campo (New York), Francis McCabe, Tian Bai (Washington, DC), Bob Greenslade (Denver), Caileen Kateri Gamache, Stephan Kuntz (Houston), Robert Converse, Josh Rocha (Austin) and Nura Yanaki (Chicago).
