Norton Rose Fulbright recognized for diversity leadership, meets Mansfield Rule
Certification 3.0
United States | Press release - Recognition | September 16, 2020
Diversity Lab has announced that we have met Mansfield Rule Certification 3.0 and Mansfield Certification Plus status, formulas that measure a law firm's success in promoting underrepresented lawyers and considering them for leadership roles and other key positions.
Mansfield Rule Certification 3.0 measures whether law firms have proactively considered at least 30 percent women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, promotions, pitch opportunities and lateral positions. The Mansfield Rule aims to increase the representation of historically underrepresented lawyers in leadership by expanding the candidate pool.
In its third iteration, this Mansfield Certification Plus status means that in addition to meeting or exceeding the pipeline consideration requirements for Mansfield Rule 3.0 Certification, we achieved at least 30 percent diverse lawyer representation in many leadership roles and committees.
To strengthen our commitment in these areas, Norton Rose Fulbright has also applied for Mansfield Rule Certification 4.0 in 2021, a higher bar that includes a more intensive tracking process throughout the next year. We also were among the firms in 2019 to achieve Mansfield Rule Certification 2.0 and Certification Plus status.
