Daniel Farris named “Notable Gen X Leader” by Crain’s Chicago

United States Press release - People December 2022

Chicago partner-in-charge Daniel Farris is being recognized as a "Notable Gen X Leader" of 2022 by Crain's Chicago Business.

Farris was one of several Chicago-based leaders selected by the trade publication who "are busy bolstering their firms' revenues and reputations and have overhauled parental leave, caregiver and flexible work policies to attract and retain top talent," Crain's said in a profile highlighting their honorees. "They also give generously of their time, whether that's pro bono cases representing human trafficking victims and people wrongfully convicted of crimes or volunteering as coaches, board members and mentors for nonprofits both large and small. Having established themselves as leaders in their fields, they are eager to help others rise through the ranks."

Farris joined the firm in April to help open the Chicago office. Under his dynamic leadership, the office has more than doubled in size. As Chicago Partner-in-Charge, Farris has worked to recruit talent, developing and retaining a diverse group of lawyers, including women and a diverse majority of partners. He's reimagined the experience of law firm work in ways that attract top, diverse talent.

He also spearheads the firm's US Technology Transactions group, and in June, he helped launch LX Studio, a subsidiary that promotes the firm's digital services to clients. He's also helped the firm adopt new risk-sharing models and legal tech tools.

As partner-in-charge of the Chicago office, Farris oversees its administrative matters, integrates new attorneys and supports business services. Farris also advises business clients as the leader of the US Technology Transactions group.

Outside of his work within Norton Rose Fulbright, Farris serves on the board of the Southeast Side Education Incubator, which provides work study, skill training and mentoring to underserved students at schools in the Big Shoulders Fund network. Within Big Shoulders Fund, he provides pro bono counsel. He remains active in the legal community ranging from coaching Moot Court at Loyola University Chicago to guest lecturing at LUC and DePaul.
