Kristopher Miks and Nader Hasan named 2024 Lexpert Rising Stars

Partners Kristopher Miks (Vancouver) and Nader Hasan (Toronto) have been recognized as 2024 Lexpert Rising Stars, an award honouring a select group of leading lawyers under 40 across Canada. This acknowledgement is widely seen as a recognition of the next generation of legal industry trailblazers and leaders.

Kris is a driving force behind national transactions at the firm, where he initiated the Vancouver Securities Group, bringing his extensive Bay Street experience to the West Coast. He is also a key member of the Special Situations Team, contributing to key files in this area.

He has invested countless hours in recruiting, mentoring, and training, all while providing exceptional legal counsel to clients and actively engaging in the business community. His dedication to fostering a culture of success ensures that his entire team thrives.

Kris is committed to building a positive impact within his profession and across the broader community. As part of the firm’s pro bono program, Kris supported Save the Children to assist the organization progress its goals of ensuring children’s unique needs are met daily and in crisis. He’s taken on a similar role as a board member of The Driven Project. This nonprofit organization creates unique experiences for critically and chronically ill children, allowing them to enjoy a day that transcends the difficulties they’re experiencing.

Nader is a key member of the Business Law group, where he plays a key role on the Special Situations team. 

He has represented a diverse range of clients, including issuers, boards of directors, management teams, dissident shareholders, and hostile bidders, in some of the most significant and complex transactions, proxy battles, and regulatory proceedings in Canada. His experience spans M&A transactions, such as statutory plans of arrangement and reverse takeovers, as well as serving issuers, underwriters and investors in financing transactions that include public offerings and private placements.

Nader leverages his experience to make a difference in the community. He has served on not-for-profit boards and frequently speaks at events for the Law Society of Ontario, MAX, and other institutions. Committed to excellence and collaboration, Nader fosters a successful environment where clients and colleagues thrive.
