Three of our lawyers among the world’s Top 250 Women in IP

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is proud to announce that for a second consecutive year, it is the only law firm in Canada to have three female practitioners listed in Canada among Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s Top 250 Women in IP.

This is partner Allyson Whyte Nowak’s (Toronto) third consecutive appearance on the list, while senior partner and Canadian intellectual property practice head Judith Robinson (Montreal) and partner Jordana Sanft (Toronto) are included for a second time.

Allyson Whyte Nowak’s experience centers on patent, trade secret, copyright and trade-mark litigation as well as trade libel. “Jordana, Judith and I are committed to working with the other honourees to come up with concrete initiatives to use this recognition to mentor female associates in IP and pay it forward,” she said.

Judith Robinson is the National Chair of the Canadian IP practice. Judith focuses on complex IP litigation and related advice, including in the life sciences and aerospace sectors. "Our IP group was founded in the 1960s by Joan Clark, Q.C., a formidable lawyer and pioneer in so many ways,” she said. “Ms. Clark is a marvellous role model and I am proud to be part of that team.”

Jordana Sanft, who is a registered patent and trade-mark agent, focuses on complex intellectual property litigation. She is skilled in handling matters of patent infringement and impeachment actions involving the pharmaceutical industry. “It is an honour for me to be included on this list among so many talented women in IP around the world,” she said. “Our firm has a long history of trailblazing women in IP and I am fortunate to be part of a firm with such a rich history.”

Managing IP’s 2018 list recognizes female practitioners in private practice who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.

The female practitioners were selected from Managing IP’s general IP STARS list, a specialist guide to intellectual property firms and practitioners which will be published in May.

Managing IP produces its annual directory using independent research and information provided by thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients.
