Norton Rose Fulbright advises IMI on acquisition of Bahr Modultechnik

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised UK-based IMI plc (IMI) on the acquisition of mechanical engineering company Bahr Modultechnik GmbH. The purchase price was €98 million.
Mechanical engineering company IMI is a leading global engineering group based in Birmingham in the UK. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of motion and fluid control technologies and hydronic distribution systems. Norton Rose Fulbright and partner Frank Henkel's team have advised IMI for many years, including on all M&A transactions in Germany.
Bahr Modultechnik GmbH was founded in 1990 and specialises in the development and production of linear axes. Linear technology includes mechanical components in guide and drive technology. These are used in particular in mechanical and plant engineering. The use of high-quality linear axes is a milestone on the way to complete automation. Bahr Modultechnik, headquartered in Luhden, Lower Saxony, is present in 24 countries worldwide with authorized dealers.
At IMI, Bahr will be integrated into the Industrial Automation division within the IMI Precision Engineering business unit. With the acquisition of Bahr, IMI aims to offer an energy-independent range of pneumatic and electric linear motion systems.
