Norton Rose Fulbright appoints Minneapolis partners to IP and office leadership roles

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed four Minneapolis partners to leadership roles, with Tim Kenny becoming the firm's US Co-Head of Intellectual Property, Felicia Boyd its US Head of IP Brands, Mary Young its Minneapolis office Partner-in-Charge and Jamal Faleel its Minneapolis office Head of Litigation and Disputes.
Joining Houston partner Jim Repass as the firm's US Co-Head of Intellectual Property, Kenny will co-lead the practice group of more than 85 lawyers for the remainder of 2022 before becoming the US Head of IP on January 1, 2023.

Kenny's practice focuses on US and international trademark litigation, oppositions/cancellations, policing, counseling, licensing, prosecution and strategic portfolio counseling and management, copyrights, copyright litigation and unfair competition litigation.
Kenny, who has served as Global Head of Intellectual Property, US Head of IP Brands and Minneapolis office Partner-in-Charge, said:

As US Head of IP Brands, Boyd will lead the trademark and brands-focused IP lawyers in the IP practice group. With more than three decades of practice, she has extensive experience as a leader in complex IP disputes involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade dress, spanning a diverse array of industries.
As Minneapolis office Partner-in-Charge, Young will foster firm culture and promote client service for the office comprised of more than 40 people, including more than 20 lawyers. Young represents clients in complex matters across a broad range of substantive legal areas, including product liability, consumer fraud class actions, mass torts and commercial litigation.
As Head of Litigation and Disputes for the Minneapolis office, Faleel will identify and pursue client opportunities for the Minneapolis litigators. He has served as lead counsel for public and private companies in their most significant trials and litigation, with a focus on class action defense, products liability defense and complex commercial litigation.
Young and Faleel joined Norton Rose Fulbright alongside 10 other lawyers, four paralegals and two practice coordinators from litigation boutique Blackwell Burke in April. On June 15, President Joe Biden nominated Blackwell Burke founder Jerry W. Blackwell to be a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Young served pro bono with Blackwell, Minneapolis of counsel Corey Gordon and others on the prosecution team that secured the conviction of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd.
