Norton Rose Fulbright represents Xochitl on partnership with Forward Consumer Partners

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented premium tortilla chips and salsa maker Xochitl, LLC (Xochitl) and its founder and president, Carlos Salinas, in its 50/50 partnership with Forward Consumer Partners (Forward). The transaction was announced on May 21, 2024.

Founded in 1995, Xochitl began with a salsa recipe passed down in the Salinas family for nearly a century. It later introduced premium tortilla chips made with 100 percent Non-GMO Project Verified ingredients including organic and non-hydrogenated oils. It is now the largest independent brand of corn tortilla chips in the United States.

Forward is a private investment company focused on branded consumer businesses. It currently manages US$425 million of committed capital through its debut fund, which closed in December 2023.

Norton Rose Fulbright’s deal team was led by Scarlet McNellie (Dallas) and Benjamin Montanez (San Antonio) and also included Vanisha Weatherspoon (Austin), Alex Clark, Todd Schroeder, Tom Meaney, Cassidy Tennyson, Wesley Okereke, Katherine Oglesby, Josh Owings (Dallas), Bob Greenslade (Denver) and Mark Faccenda (Washington, DC).
