Calgary lawyer named Lexpert Leading Lawyer Under 40

Danielle Maksimow (Calgary) has been named one of Canada’s Leading Lawyers Under 40 at the 2019 Lexpert Rising Stars Awards.
The prestigious award recognizes young legal talent and acknowledges Maksimow’s excellent reputation as an emerging leader advising Canadian banks and borrowers, insurance companies and other financial institutions on high-profile and complex financial matters in Canada and the U.S.
Maksimow is one of only a few lawyers in Canada to have built her practice to represent Canadian and American life insurance companies that purchase notes from Canadian issuers in the cross-border U.S. private placement market. These life insurance companies lend to issuers across diverse industries, including oil and gas, limestone, potash and electricity.
Maksimow sits on the board of trustees and is actively involved with the American College of Investment Counsel, an organization composed of internal and external counsel to life insurance companies purchasing private placement debt.
The Rising Star Award honours Maksimow’s highly sought-after experience, drive and commitment to deliver efficient, comprehensive and consistent service to her sophisticated Canadian and U.S. client base.
