Norton Rose Fulbright advises shareholders of EXTRA Group on merger with Thomas-Krenn.AG

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised the shareholders of EXTRA Computer GmbH and other companies of the EXTRA Group from Giengen an der Brenz (Baden-Württemberg) on the sale toThomas-Krenn.AG of Freyung in Lower Bavaria.
In the merger of the two computer companies into partners, both companies will retain their locations, brands and employees. The existing supply, service and support contracts will also continue unchanged. The existing product portfolio will be retained.
The merger is expected to release synergies in the mutual transfer of specialist know-how and in the expansion of the product and solution portfolio. The partner and cloud business will be further expanded; existing channel partnerships will be retained. The four joint brands - EXTRA Computer GmbH's exone, Pokini and Calmo, and Thomas-Krenn - will enjoy increased profile through the merger.
EXTRA Computer GmbH is a medium-sized IT manufacturer with products including PCs, notebooks, servers, industrial PCs, rugged tablets, touch computers, panel PCs, cloud services and more. The products are sold to qualified resellers and system houses under the brands exone (business IT systems), Pokini (rugged industrial PCs) and calmo (very long-term available industrial PCs). Many systems are configured and built individually according to customer requirements. The owner-managed company based in Giengen-Sachsenhausen an der Brenz was founded in 1989 and has over 180 employees.
Thomas-Krenn.AG is a leading manufacturer of individual server and storage systems. Since 2002, the company has been supplying end users, resellers and data center operators with high-quality hardware according to the build-to-order principle. Thomas-Krenn.AG has around 200 employees at its Freyung site in Lower Bavaria.
Both partner companies manufacture their products entirely in Germany. The turnover in 2020 was more than €120 million.
