Appellate practice grows with addition of former judge

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that trial lawyer Kristina Williams, who previously served as a Texas state district court judge, has joined its Dallas office as senior counsel.

Williams leverages her judicial experience to develop effective litigation and appellate strategy and help clients in the courtroom. She has represented clients in interlocutory and post-judgment appeals as well as petitions for writ of mandamus before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Courts of Appeals.

As Judge of the 192^nd Civil District Court in Dallas, Williams presided over 35 jury trials, 20 bench trials and more than 900 hearings. Her docket ranged from complex commercial litigation to personal injury cases, and she disposed of nearly 4,000 cases.

Williams, who practiced appellate and commercial litigation at two Am Law 200 law firms prior to government service, said:

Prior to her judicial appointment, Williams served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Texas, Appellate Section. As a federal prosecutor, she successfully prosecuted healthcare fraud, drug, crime of violence, child enticement, gun and immigration cases.

Williams is licensed to practice in Texas. She earned her law degree summa cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center and her bachelor's degree cum laude from Texas A&M University.
