Christine Fernandez Owen named to Crain’s Chicago Business’s Notable Women in Law list

Crain’s Chicago Business has named Chicago partner Christine Fernandez Owen to its 2024 list of Notable Women in Law.
This honor recognizes high achieving women in the legal industry who serve as role models or mentors and show leadership in professional organizations and community initiatives.
Owen is a seasoned renewable energy lawyer, experienced in in matters involving real estate, title insurance, environmental diligence, negotiation of commercial contracts used in the development and construction of renewable energy projects. Additionally, she currently serves as an adjunct professor of clean energy law at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
A mentor inside and outside of the firm, Owen is involved in the national nonprofit organization, Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energies, which aims to build community, promote education, cultivate leadership and focuses on promoting women and historically marginalized people in the renewable energy industry. She recently held the title of Board President of the Chicago chapter and has participated in the peer mentoring program.
To qualify for this award, nominees must be based in Chicago and have been practicing law for at least ten years. Selections were made through a nomination and editorial review process. Profiles of the honorees will be published in an editorial feature online and in the Feb. 19 print edition of Crain’s Chicago Business.
