Tax practice expands in Frankfurt with two counsel hires

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has expanded its tax practice in Germany with the addition of counsel Dr. Ralf Koschmieder and Norbert Fischbach. They will join the firm on 1 November 2022 and will be based in Frankfurt.

Dr. Ralf Koschmieder has extensive experience in advising capital management companies on all tax and regulatory aspects of product design, advising institutional investors (insurance companies, pension funds and banks) on tax and regulatory aspects of capital investment, as well as financial market regulation. He specializes in open and closed-end funds as well as access solutions for institutional investors with a focus on real estate, infrastructure, private debt and other alternative asset classes. His advisory work also includes tax and regulatory structuring as well as auditing of the assets held by the fund.  For Dr. Ralf Koschmieder, it is a return; he joins from Simmons & Simmons, but was previously at Norton Rose Fulbright until 2020. In addition to his legal and tax training, he has a degree in business administration.

Norbert Fischbach provides comprehensive advice on the tax aspects of international M&A transactions. He has extensive experience advising on cross-border real estate acquisitions and sales, as well as on the tax structuring of private equity transactions. He also acts as an expert witness in tax audits and manages tax litigation mandates. Norbert joins the firm from his own practice, having previously worked for firms Dechert and Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson, among others, as partner and European counsel in Frankfurt.
