Recognized and celebrated in multiple countries, Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate and learn about Black history and culture, as well as to acknowledge the contributions and achievements of Black individuals globally. Black History Month is marked annually in October in the UK, the Netherlands and Ireland. In Canada and the United States, it is marked annually in February.

This month and every month, it is paramount that we listen more to, and learn more from, Black voices. Through this Amplify series, we invite you to take the time to hear from some of our Black colleagues across regions, who discuss the power of commonality and celebrating our differences.

Our firm is committed to creating an inclusive culture that supports, attracts, and empowers people from broad backgrounds – a culture that values and promotes authenticity.

“It almost requires you to know the ‘rules of the game’ and if you are part of an entrenched system, it becomes easier for you to understand where you should or should not be. I don't think that's the case for everyone, especially if the ‘rules of the game’ are not designed for you”

Will Alete and Yolanda Dladla sat down to discuss what can be done to help improve recruitment and retention of Black talent, as well as the importance of allyship, role models and what can be done to change entrenched systems of bias.
