Norton Rose Fulbright UK and Netherlands teams won IFLR’s European Restructuring Deal of the Year Award
Norton Rose Fulbright won IFLR’s “European Restructuring Deal of the Year” for the second consecutive year, this time for its representation of a syndicate of lenders in the financial restructuring of subsea services provider DeepOcean Group (DeepOcean). London and Amsterdam teams advised a group of senior secured lenders to the DeepOcean, a leading provider of offshore subsea services for the oil and gas and renewables industries, on its successful restructuring via inter-conditional restructuring plans (under the new Part 26A of the UK Companies Act 2006). The team was led by James Stonebridge and Eleanor Martin with the help of Alex Blaney and Geon Sik Kang in London as well as Wouter Hertzberger, Mei Land Man and Koen Durlinger in Amsterdam.

Airfinance Journal is a leading publication covering the global aircraft finance market. The annual awards celebrate best-in-class aviation finance deals, while recognizing the organizations and teams that played central roles. The Aviation 100 Awards, which were hosted by Airline Economics, focuses on the commercial aviation finance and leasing industry.

The firm was awarded ‘Crisis Management Team of the Year’ at Law.com Middle East Legal Awards 2022 for a second consecutive year for work led by its market-leading boardroom crisis management and cyber incident practice, which supports large corporates and data rich companies across all sectors. Led by Dubai-based partner and Head of Middle East corporate, M&A, securities and cyber risk, Adjou Ait Ben Idir, the Middle East team acting on the matter included counsel Shabnam Karim, senior associate Kenza Bensaid, associate Rebecca Neville, and paralegal Ivana Cicic.
Norton Rose Fulbright acted as legal adviser to the joint lead managers on the ‘Structured Finance Deal of the Year’, Telecom Egypt’s $500 million medium-term syndicated loan agreement. Dubai banking and finance partner Nicholas Robinson led the Norton Rose Fulbright team on this deal. Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation’s SAR11.2 billion Senior Unsecured Syndicated Facility will be named ‘Islamic Structured Finance Deal of the Year’. Norton Rose Fulbright acted as legal adviser to the borrower, led by the firm’s head of Middle East Mohammed Paracha.
