Norton Rose Fulbright acts for Conergy in Australian-first solar and battery storage deal
Global | Business | August 24, 2016
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Conergy on the development and project financing of Australia’s first solar and battery storage project.
The Lakeland solar PV project is located at the fringe of Ergon’s grid in Northern Queensland. It will have an installed capacity of 10.8MW combined with a 5.3MWh battery storage system. The project will receive both a funding grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and debt financing from NordLB.
Norton Rose Fulbright global head of energy Simon Currie, who led the deal, commented:
"We are very proud to have supported Conergy, one of the world’s largest solar companies, to finalise the development and financing of this project. Solar PV+ is the future and the Lakeland project comprises solar PV+ battery in an on-grid environment.”
Our team included lawyers from our Sydney and Brisbane offices including partners Emanuel Confos and Noni Shannon, special counsel Chris Baker, senior associates Steven Choi, Juliette King, Jenida Satem and Kelly Davies, associate Thomas Bramah and graduate Ben Foster. We also worked closely with Conergy's regional general counsel, Maree Myerscough.
