Biography
Jack Whelan is a corporate lawyer based in London. He advises UK and international clients on a wide variety of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures and equity fundraisings.
Jack trained with the firm, during which time he spent six months on secondment in HSBC's Global M&A team, working across several of the HSBC Group's significant M&A mandates during that period.

- Mercer (part of the Marsh McLennan group), on its acquisition of Cardano - a long-term savings specialist in the UK and the Netherlands with approximately US$66 billion in assets under management.
- Conning Holdings Limited and its shareholder Cathay Financial Holdings, on the sale of Conning Holdings Limited to the asset management arm of the Generali Group in return for a 16.75% shareholding in the combined group with total combined assets under management of $845 billion.
- HSBC, on the partnered wind down and transfer of its custody services businesses in multiple jurisdictions.
- Advising a global financial institution on a series of early stage investments including investments by its sustainable impact fund.
