Liesl is a commercial attorney. She established the pro bono practice at the firm in 2007 and still contributes to the important work of the practice. Liesl is responsible for delivering the firm’s Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment scorecard and the firm’s ESG and sustainability commitments.

After obtaining her Bcomm and LLB degrees at Rhodes University, Liesl completed her articles at the Norton Rose Fulbright, as well as two years of post-articles service, before leaving to take up a position at Cell C where she spent four and a half years gaining valuable telecoms experience.

NGO law is Liesl’s primary area of focus in her practice.

Liesl is a member of the Law Society of South Africa’s Small Claims Court, Pro Bono and Legal Aid sub-committee.
