On February 20, 2024, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Order 2024 was published. It came into force on March 11, 2024.
The Order makes "Operating a pensions dashboard service" that connects to the Money and Pensions Service dashboards digital architecture a new FCA-regulated activity.
The Pensions Dashboards Programme has published a blog providing an outline of the central digital architecture which connects pensions providers and schemes with pensions dashboards. The blog covers the three services of the central digital architecture which facilitate the exchange of pensions data: the identity service; the consent and authorisation service; and the pensions finder service.

On 21 May 2024, the European Council (or Council) adopted the so-called ‘Hydrogen and decarbonised gas market package’ (the Gas Package). The package contains a recast of the 715/2009 gas regulation (Gas Regulation) and a recast of the 2009/73 gas directive (Gas Directive) aimed at reforming the existing EU regulatory framework to support the deployment of renewable and low-carbon gases, in particular hydrogen. As such, it represents a major development in the EU gas market.
