Biography

Dianne is a partner in the Employment and Labour group in the Vancouver office where she practises in all areas of workplace law. With over 19 years of specialized experience in the area, Dianne has received industry recognition as a leader in employment law and workers' compensation law. Dianne regularly advises both domestic and international employers across a broad range of provincially and federally regulated industries.

With a client-centric approach, Dianne skillfully advises businesses on navigating complex workplace issues, including workplace crisis management, hiring practices, disciplinary actions, terminations, human rights claims, wrongful and constructive dismissals, return to work issues, and other work-related matters. Dianne has extensive experience in drafting employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements and other employment-related documents, and handles claims relating to post-employment competition by employees, human rights violations in the workplace, workers' compensation and occupational health and safety matters, compliance with employment standards and executive compensation matters.

Dianne also uses her specialized experience to assist clients in large, complex corporate transactions, restructurings, and downsizings. She provides steady and consistent guidance throughout the transaction and post-closing to ensure a smooth integration of the workplace. Clients appreciate Dianne's responsiveness and ability to create user-friendly solutions to what are complex and challenging business issues. 

As an experienced litigation lawyer, Dianne has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Dianne appears regularly in front of various administrative bodies and tribunals, including the Workers' Compensation Appeal Tribunal, the Employment Standards Tribunal, and the Human Rights Tribunal.

Dianne is a frequent speaker and author on employment and labour issues and frequently delivers training seminars to clients and human resources organizations. Dianne has a keen interest in mentorship and has been recognized for her efforts in developing students and associates.
