Biography
Andréa Cabanac is a mining lawyer based in Johannesburg.
She focuses on mining, minerals, natural resources, and energy.
As part of her work in the mining law division, she has dealt with a variety of legal issues such as commentary on behalf of the mining industry on several Bills, Regulations, Policy Documents, Guidelines and Frameworks in the context of mining, minerals and petroleum, spatial development, environmental law, and land reform. She has, together with Professor Doctor Michael Dale, advised major local and international clients on compliance with mining, environmental, zoning, and land reform legislation, as well as municipal rates objections and related litigation.
Whilst working at Norton Rose Fulbright, Andréa completed a postgraduate course in Prospecting and Mining Law at the Mandela Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
